Why can I not purchase Kleynimals toy keys in Canada?
When I first designed Kleynimals, I was very focused on ensuring the safety of the product (as I still am and will always be). Thus, I had several conversations with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission to determine the size and shape required for toy keys. What I did not realize, at that time, is that every country has its own different size and shape requirement, as well as classification of toy keys. In the US, we consider them to be toys that need to pass the small parts test. In Canada, toy keys are considered a rattle, which requires a different test altogether. Sometimes, learning can be painful and in Canada I had to learn the hard way. The great news is that I have another option for Canada…our rattle! We like to call our rattle "Zookeeper Keys," and it is a great alternative to our original design.
